adidas Originals by Originals - Jeremy Scott - 3-Tongue Low | Available Now

If there is anyone who can prove that excess is good, it is Jeremy Scott. In a world where designers are keeping things classic and minimal, the outrageously irreverent American designer keeps it pumped and loud in both his eponymous line and his high-profile collaboration with adidas Originals by Originals.

Aside from the already difficult to find Multicolored JS Wings (a pair of shoes with so many colors you can’t count and comes with wings–what’s not to like?), another stand-out piece due to race off the racks is the 3-Tongue Low. Scott had previously played around with sneaker tongues and decided that the more the merrier, this time around he brings the same concept to the classic loafer silhouette. Except this loafer is remixed with a futuristic tone in mind in a reflective silver upper, and the classic loafer fringed tongue with tassels are piled atop one another (three in total, perhaps a nod to the adidas Originals 3-stripes). Of course, aside from three tongues, the 3-stripes are still present and modified with a dandy touch with the weaved detail through the ankle and stripes. The soles are kept black for a retro-space age vibe– as if the classic men’s loafers had been on a galactic trip and came back reconstructed and plated with another dimension.

These are now available for purchase at Wish! for those who are looking to add some amp to the classics.

Band of Outsiders x Sperry Top-Sider - Spring/Summer 2010 | Available Now

One of the original labels that kick started hipster cool into the spotlight, Band of Outsiders, had been collaborating with heritage purveyor of summer languish, Sperry Top-Sider. Last season, the duo transformed the dock-side summer staple into winter-ready numbers with wool and leather. This season, the collaborations take the deck-shoes back to their summer roots with fresh colors in a variety of materials fit for the warmer weather. Thus far, the releases come in two models, the laced deck-shoes and penny loafers. The deck-shoes are crafted from a mix of suede and washed out rough nylon with a light canvas lining. One of the stand out colorways for the summer is crafted from an all-over light-blue striped rough canvas upper with white leather laces and canvas lining.
In the other part of the drop, penny loafers are reconstructed in an all suede upper with canvas lining, and the iconic Sperry Deck soles are dressed in colored stacks with production information printed in white on the tongue, championing a nonchalant deconstructed look.
The Spring/Summer 2010 collaborative collection is now available online at Tres Bien Shop, so check them out and look forward to the warmer days to come.

Common Projects - Spring/Summer 2010 - Achilles Raw Low-Top

Common Projects has been winning sneaker battles with luxurious simplicity for a while but ever more so this season with drops for fresh silhouettes with just the fine dose of twist. After the perforated low-top fit for courts and those who crave a matrimony of ventilation and style, the label’s latest Italian confection is the Achilles Raw Low Top crafted from an ultra fine raw black leather with vulcanized soles and suede laces. These kicks retain a raw, masculine edge with jagged edges along the seams and a leather lace tag. As everything is kept minimal in black, the shoes exercise quite a measured sophistication iconic of Common Projects–also, the gold stamp on the side says it all. Buy them now online at oki-ni, and be prepared to want to wear them everywhere until they break, which would take quite a lot of walking and time.

Museum Ark x Tricker’s Footwear

Japanese retailer Museum Ark has once again created a custom collection of footwear with legendary English shoemaker, Tricker’s. Two models worth noting include a standard and timeless black suede wingtip as well as a more innovative calf leather longwing fused with a Vibram Christy outsole. The calf leather longwing does come across as a bit odd with a slim upper combined with a substantial outsole. Both styles are available now exclusively at Museum Ark.
